Gentlemen,
My name is Tom Clegg live in Des Moines, IA. Reenact many different eras and impressions recreating the common foot soldier from the Roman Empire to today. Have just added The Korean War to the repertoire. Have only done educational presentations and one veterans meeting. Portraying 7th Infantry Division in honor of my dad and in honor of a distant cousin Ed Clegg who was KIA 12SEPT1950 I also portray 1st Cav Rgm't (Inf) Ist Cav Div.
Anybody else in the midwest?
Tom

Hello all, My name is Bren Woodard. I've been with a unit that does USMC WW2-Vietnam for about 6~7 years, and I do US Army WW2 so Korea isn't much of a stretch. I'm also interested in the Chinese side as well, I had the opportunity to spend a month in Beijing and see that they are just normal folks, too. Unfortunately, Chinese also refer to Korea as their "Forgotten War", as it is completely overshadowed by their Civil war and the "Anti-Japan war". Anyway, on a slightly lighter note, I live in Wilmington NC, so I pretty much reenact between GA and VA.

Hey all. My name is Brad LaGrange, I'm 27, am from St. Croix Indiana but live in near by Louisville Kentucky. Currently I work part time for a subcontractor at UPS and part time as a technical advisor/production designer for film/TV. When I'm not doing that I'm a criminal justice student in my 2nd year, and will attend EMT classes after I recieve my Bachelors.
After WWII got silly I moved into Vietnam. We do CTroop, 3-4 Cav, 25th Division. Wanting to do Korean war bazooka team. Other impressions I have but never get to use are..... 11th ACR:Germany 1958 82nd AB: Operation Urgent Fury/Grenada 1983 7th ID: Operation "Just Cause" Panama 1989 101st AB: Operation Desert Storm Iraq 1991 USMC Vietnam
Would like a Vietnam Airforce SP and WWI US Army impression someday
I've also created several impressions for manniquins at displays for: USMC Lebanon 1983, US Army Ranger Somalia/"Black Hawk Down", 1st Cav LT, Bosnia (mid 90's), and 3-7 Cav dismount/3rd Div Iraq 2003. Finding the Ranger body armor and the IBA were the hardest parts. Now that I picked up a MICH helmet I might set up a current Iraq impression for a manniquin. Vets like to see how what they wear/wore relates to later/current gear.
Besides all of that I like old cars, old beer cans, "Falls City Beer" signs, body armor, Ike Jackets, and what ever oddball junk I drag home from the thrift store.

I think our god is Britt King out of Indy. I think he said he had like 40 impressions...... The ones I've seen are SPOT ON, but how often do you get to be Swiss Naval Infantry(not one of his real impressions but it just sounds funny).

Haven't met him, but he sounds cool. I don't really know how many impressions I've got, I just go thru "phases" where I'll be interested in something for a while, which means I have to buy militaria from that time period. Not that I even know what all I own... Mostly WW2-late 80's/early 90's stuff.

I don't think I have 40 impressions, but I did decide it was too much work to try and keep count of the ones I have. Some of them kind of blend into one another, too.

Hi all, my name is Jonathan Hartness and I live in the western part of NC. I know a few of you here (Foster & courage505). I have reenacted so many eras I've lost count. Currently my main focus is collecting WW1 (All Nations) & Marine Corps items 1900-1975. I'm currently building a Korean era USMC impression.

I think between all of us we have enough weapons, equipment, and uniforms to clothe and arm a small nation....they just need their own footware.

Hey all, I'll introduce myself as well. I'm Peter Geyer, I'm 35, and I'm out of northern VA (just outside of DC). Like many of you guys, impressions for me are like potato chips: you can't have just one. I started out doing late-WW1 German with IR63. From there I developed an early-WW1 impression which is staggeringly different. From there I went to late-WW2 German SS. From there I went to early-WW2 German Heer. From there I went to 1939 Polish infantry. And that leads me to here and my still rudimentary 1953 U.S. Army infantry impression.
I got really interested in the Korean war after I visited South Korea when I was in business school a couple of years ago. Visiting the DMZ and seeing ROK and DPRK soldiers face-to-face across the border was a mind-blowing experience. I wanted to turn that to my hobby to explore it more.
I hope to see you all out in the field soon!

Welcome Dave! I've not been actively collecting Korea War militaria until recently, but in my time collecting WWII militaria I have noticed Korean War vintage items. It seems to me that some items from the Korean War are harder to locate than I thought!

Yes it seems like thats true, took me over a year to get the Ike jackets and I'm still working on small items.
Lots of WW2 left over uniforms and equipment was used in Korea. I have noticed that the avg jacket size is 38 to 40, where most of the WW2 sized were 34-36. Whats really missing is the reference material, no where near the WW2 level.

Sean, I've still got a bunch of stuff I bought off of you years ago when you started to do Korea and then decided not to.
