Alright, for those who are intrested and live in the Carolinas or close and wish to join a marine living history unit, the USMCLHU or US Marine Corps Living History Unit is for you!
The USMC LHU does all sorts of time peroids from WW1, to bananna wars to World War two, and Vietnam. We even have a few working on Grenada, Panama, and Gulf War impressions.
The USMC LHU its primarly based in the VA area, and parts of NC...but the Unit as decided to expand to North Carolian and the areas to do living historys in SC, NC, and southren VA.
What we are looking for:
People who are not afraid to have a good time, and who have a love for history! We are very laid back but we still have a pretty high standard for getting it right. You will need to have the correct impression for whatever time peroid you are doing, but at the same time this is a hobby, we are not real marines so you will be treated as such.
We are looking for people who are dedicated to Honoring Marine Corps History and vets of the US Marine Corps. We take people from all shapes and sizes and age groups and we have been doing events well for many years.
Events like Military through the ages (MTA), and the Norfolk Botanical gardens have played host to us and we have done displays from US Marines on Okinawa, to marines in the Choisin, and US Marines at Da Nang.
We also do time line events, where we show up and set up a time line of marine corps impressions from the Civil War to Modern times.
