Hello to all, My interest in the Korean War stems from my grandfather who was drafted for the war, though I don't remember what year he was there. Also, the Marine Reserve unit I was in, the 2nd Battalion, 24th Regiment was activated and also fought it Korea. I have tried to find some information about their time in Korea, and all I can find is that they were sent to the 1st Marine Division. I want to know if they stayed together as a unit, or were they augmented into the different battalions in the 1st Marine Division. Any direction on where to find this detailed information would be greatly appreciated. I'm glad there is a page like this to help remember the "Forgotten War". Ryan Lockhart

Ryan:
Scant little info is out there about 2/24, except that it was sent with the 1st MARDIV to Korea on the outset of hostilities. You might try HQMC for some detailed info.

Thanks Transport. I just emailed the HQ of the 4th Marine Division, figured I'd try them first.
