Hello,
I don't know much about M1 helmets so could someone tell me more about the types/models used in Korea? I'm guessing that WW2 models were used too?
I've got a Belgian 1954 dated one to which I've added a hessian cover - what else should I do to make it correct for Korea? Do the chinstraps need to be changed?
Thanks!
BP

Thanks!
Do the chinstraps need to be changed too? At the moment they're green with metal tabs where they hook on to the helmet? Should they be changed to the WW2 tan type?

my reaction is probably a litte late, but maybe it helps a bit, you can leave the metal tabs on cauze they were put into use in August 1945, so they should be fine for korea and the green straps are probably m44 chin straps wich were also used in korea

I've got an original Korean War era helmet. It's all basically the same as late WW2. They had the green M44 style straps.
