I thought I would deposit all of the facts about the kit/etc of the Dutch Contingent (2nd ID), known as NDVN (Nederlandse Detachment Verenigde Naties), I have found (and links to photos) in my research. There is very little stuff on the dutch but here are some helpful links:
First, a history:
www.korean-war.com/netherlands.html
The museum of the Van Heutsz regiment has some interesting displays on the Korean War. Here is their website (Dutch language only):
www.defensie.nl/landmacht/cultureel/musea_en_verzamelingen/historische_verzameling_regiment_van_heutsz
Uniforms:
The Dutch contingent started the war with Battledress (identical to the stuff the British used during the war '37 pattern)

(This battledress, is, I believe actually a 1945-dated Canadian version!)

At some point during the war, they converted to US kit and equipment, as can be seen in this photo:

This included the US Ike Jacket:

Insignia-wise, the Dutch like any other contingent had their own cap badge, and formation patch - see below: The two little enamel badges on the right (the one like the Dutch formation patch and the 2 ID one) were designed to be worn as a pair on each collar point.

(please note, only the middle row of insignia in the photo is Dutch).
A home-made formation patch (made in Japan):

A table showing the correct sort of cap badge. The cap badge is of the Regiment Van Heutsz and should be worn, on the backing patch, on a tan beret:

Hope this helps, feel free to add to it, correct it or whatever. I intend to get a page for each non-US contingent up an running on this site in the forseable future!
