Hello,
My friend would like to get into Korean War reenacting. He is more interested by the 'air war' side of it.
He would like to portray one of the 'non-existant' Soviet pilots who flew jets (especially Mig 15s) during the war.
The question is: what kit is correct? Would they have worn soviet uniforms (and if so what are they?) or NKPA ones?
Anyway, all help is appreciated!

Not trying to be a smart ass, but it's his impression, what does his rearch say???
I would assume that since the planes were Soviet, their flight suits would be as well. Uniforms would be Soviet, since they were in service to the USSR...

He doesn't speak english and it is suprising how few books/websites there are on the subject in dutch!
The only thing that did jump to mind, one website mentioned that the pilots wore 'korean' civilian clothes or NKPAA uniforms (and were meant to communicate in Korean), I find the civilian clothes part difficult to believe but can anyone confirm it?
Thanks,
BP

the civilian attire would more to 'fit in' into the local population. cover of 'business' or something along the lines of that nature, the last thing the russians wanted was to have thier guys running around in russian uniforms in nk. much like other 'advisors' in other wars. they wouldnot wear them while flying. as stated earlier, they'd wear the proper suit for the aircraft. as far as them wearing nkpaa uniforms, only if the russian looked korean.
