I am currently reading the book The Outpost War: U.S. Marines in Korea, Vol. 1: 1952 by Lee Ballenger It is available from Amazon for at least $1.83: www.amazon.com/Outpost-War-Marine-Corps-Korea/dp/1574882414Its ISBN is: 978-1574882414 Review: This is one of the best books I've read in a while about war and it does a fantastic job of putting you in the shoes of the Marines defending the MLR in 1952. It is also full of facts pertaining to mannerisms, opinions, and the equipment of the US Marines it is talking about. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the "outpost war" of 1952-1953 or anyone wishing to portray it. I can truly say this book has not only enlightened my on the forgotten part of the forgotten war but has also helped my impression. Remember more than 40% of all USMC casualties happened after April of 1952. On average, 27 casualties a day, 1 per hour. Readability: 9 Telling You Strategic information: 9 Telling you tactical information: 9.5 Telling you about the SOPs and mannerisms: 9.5 Telling about the equipment being used(graded on detail): 9.5 Usefulness to a reenactor: 9.5 My only complaint is that I wish their were more photographs. However I only have the paperback, so I don't know if the hardcover is better in that regard. -Josh
