Jeff, Greg Champion here (South Bend, IN) John is right about the Shelby Stanton Book. It is a good source of information on uniforms and equipment. I have the gear and summer uniform but not the cold weather stuff, At least not yet. I have something cooking for early August and your Korean and WWI impression would fit perfectly. How far do you travel to events? Greg

Yes! Most all your WWII gear will be okay... HBT's are good. 2-buckle boots are fine. Field gear except M-1926 backpack is good to go... I think the Army was issuing the M-1944/45? combat pack at that time.

... I should state that this will be good for approximately the 1st year of the war: there were upgrades/improvements made to uniform and equipment thereafter, i.e. M-51 fishtail parka, combat boots, etc.

Jeff,
Your HBT's are perfect for your summer impression. Most of the stuff that my father wore in the Korean War was from WWII. He didn't get any thing new till the end of the winter campaign 52/53 when he got the "new Mickey Mouse" boots. This was a huge transitional time for the US Army and not everyone got the new stuff. So a hodge podge of WWII and Korean Era items mixed together works just fine.
