Lil Beav, be advised that you CAN just wear your wools...its just that in the muck and crap in the winter, M43's will be an extra layer and that's something they did a lot of in Korea.
Buying used will be cheaper, but if you can't find anything used, try At the Front (www.atthefront.com)

John,
The best bet is to have the parents sign with a witness present, get it notarized (usually $10 in VA) and then you're good to go.
Yes they still COULD sue you should the shit hit the fan, but with a notarized form that says that they agree to hold you non-liable for whatever happens, the odds of them winning anything is EXTREMELY low (unless you decide to go all deerstalker and make them play Russian roulette with live rounds or something).

SHHHH that was part of the scenario Marc...wtf. JK Ya so thats the plan for those under 18 to have the waiver signed with a witness and notarized.

so my parents would sign at the event ? or you would email the form and I would bring it to the event? Also as fir the wools, I would rather wear just wools I feel at home like that but I also do not want to stick out, so I will conform to the norm not the exception. Lil Beav

Well since it will be very cold durring the day and very cold at night, might even get some snow...it will be of the utmost importance to be prepared for the cold. Having the Combat trousers will help out with the cold as another layer. And it will keep you drier should it rain, snow, sleet, or just be muddy. Not only that but its a uniform requirement for the unit we are potraying.
As for the wavier ill be posting on here the waiver for the event that EVERYONE will have to sign, we are asking that those under 18 have their parents sign and have the waiver notarized.

Ok Great. As said above I will conform to the norm, so M43's. It is no strain on me to get a pair, I will probably get them at GAP. Lil Beav

Hello I'm Josh, lil beav's friend.
I am a proud owner of a 60mm mortar and I was wondering if me and charles could portray a mortar squad with another friend of mine?

Hi all, I have to say I am quite excited to see that there is going to be a Korean War tatical going on finally! I've had a Korean War impression together for years and other then a few livinghistory displays it's sat dormant! Well no more! I'm not going up to the Battle of the Bulge this year becuase I was told about this event. From what I've read it looks like it was the right decision.

Thats good to hear Nate, we look forward to having you and anyone elese you can get to Convert over to the Korean war reenacting. Our goal is to keep our events as authentic an experience as possible, sans of course live rounds.
As far as the 60mm Team is concerend...I dont really have a problem with it, however for the event we are doing I dont think we will need 2 60 Mortars. id say bring it if you dont mind...and we can play it by ear. If we use it, of course you guys will crew it and ill put an NCO incharge of yall...that shouldnt be a problem

Cute, bring the mortar along. It will be fun for us to drag off into the woods after we slide into your weapons pit and slit your throats at 3am Marc

Hey just remember: we own the night. So you have no way of knowing when we will strike, if ever, whilst we're by a nice roaring fire, kicking back some Tsingtaos and eating ramen Or maybe I'm just saying that to lull you into a false sense of security. And remember...about 100 CPV used captured US uniforms to pose as ROK forces in November of '50 and proceeded to wreck the 8th Cav's back field. Just sayin

OK since I havent heard a peep out of anyone or gotten anyones registration, do I even still need to even plan having the event. Im not trying to be an ass, I am just wondering. I have not heard 100% from some of the units that are intendening on comming, I havent heard any soild numbers and I would really like to get the platoon roster started before its to late...so lets get the ball rolling the event is in a few short weeks.

John, I can not send in anything as of yet. I still need to pick up a pair of M43 trousers at GAP so I can take the pics. IF I could just take my pics without the M43s and just tell you I will have them by the event I could get every thing in sooner. Lil Beav

John, January is almost always a dead season because of FIG. Wait until 01 FEB and then I bet there will be a lot of discussion going back and forth.

You know that I am definitely going. I missed it last year, but I won't let that happen again. To much good feedback on last years event.
