Interesting that an "Ike" jacket is part of that.

I had always wondered if they did wear the wool trousers as part of the winter field uniform. This answered it for my highly uneducated self .

My buddy said they wore standard HBT's over the wool (dress greens) trousers... His were WWII issue (p-41 pattern). He said he almost never saw the 44 pattern.
During the winter of 51-2 He said they had the M-51 pants available, but didn't like to wear them as they were very bulky and too noisy.

And just to clarify; The Marines called theirs a battle jacket, not an Ike jacket. ) But you're right...you've much prettier legs than that Jarhead!
