Gents, have just obtained a 64ft Cargo parachute canopy (lines cut ) in camouflage, 'Ripstop' nylon, dated March 1952, does anyone have any info of date of introduction for this spec. of canopy as pics. I have of heavy stuff being dropped in Korea seem to show white canopies? Would this type still have been in service during Vietnam? Would this type just have been used for heavy equipment/vehicles or would it also have been used for supply of materials/ordnance. Does anyone have any info on the full assembly/parachute container/supply bundles as I may try and put tall back together for display, you never know, might get a field howitzer or something! Thanks, Jon.

Take a closer look at some of those pictures. I've noticed that when the images are compressed the canopies look white, but under enlargement they are often in fact the camouflage variety.
I know cargo drops were done with some frequency, especially early in the war when the battle lines were fluid and units sometimes faced encirclement.
Either way, a cool find!
