Sorry I should have made my point clear: Take the Glosters for example, many pictures survive that show Glosters' BDs with shoulder titles and formation badges (29th and Wessex). Stephen - The British "green uniform" and parka were part of the move away from battledress and copying the US layered types of uniform. They were designated the 1950 (or 1951) pattern (nothing to do with WWII). The Parkas are part of this uniform. Alternatively, the A&SH when they arrived in Korea wore JGs (possibly of the WW2 type). This is the A&SH type: This is an example of the tunic of the 1950 pattern in wear: For the later part of the war (1952-3), battledress (certainly jackets) would not be worn in the field, only as barracks dress. In the field they would have been replaced by by the new, more comfortable pattern. BP
