Hello all, My name is Stephen (or Steve, which ever). I am a 17 year old American living in Poland. I do some WW2 reenacting as a Brit and I love 20th century history. I have always been interested in the Korean war but more so recently because I have been talking to my Grandpa. He was a 1st Division Marine serving from, I believe '45-'52. He took part in the "maneuver" at the Chosin (amazingly not getting any frostbite) and was present the night his Platoon Sargent, Harold Wilson, won the Medal of Honor a few miles from Koto Ri (I think that was the town). I am interested in slowly acquiring and putting together a USMC impression from that period to honor him specifically. I look forward to interacting with you all.

Welcome aboard Steve! You'll have to tell us sometime how you ended up in Poland...
I'm also putting together a Marine impression, so if I can be of any assistance, do let me know.

Neat! Missionaries eh?
Kind of a "one source" place is: sportsmansguide.com
In the search bar type in "HQ" and they've got HBT's, roughout boondockers etc. so that will get you started. You can also check ebay for other items, and I've even got a few odds and ends. You can email me at: pop401k@yahoo.com and we can discuss more.

The Dennison Railroad Depot Museum in Dennison, Ohio would like to invite WWII or Korean War Reenactment Groups and veterans to join us for our American Soldiers Homecoming Tribute Aug 8-10, 2008 in Dennison, Ohio. This is an event to honor veterans, and this year, the focus will include the Korean War. The Dennison Depot was a site of a WWI and WWII Canteen that served 1.5 million soldiers, and our Soldiers Homecoming features WWII battle reenactments, big band music, living history, speaker, roundtables and more. One of the Korean War topics will include the Troop Train Wreck that happened near our town. We also have Lee Greenwood coming for a special concert. Please check us out and let me know if there is any way possible that we can entice you to do a Korean War reenactment. Corey Bercaw is our reenactor coordinator, and he and I will be happy to answer any questions you have. Thanks so much. Details at www.dennisondepot.org. Wendy

sorry to but in . I may or may not be of help as i live to far away (Scotland UK) I am 47 years old and have served 22 years in the army and also bean collecting Brit army kit for over 30 years mostly WWII but my mane interest has always been in the Korean war as my father was there with the 1st BW he was a regular and served in WWII until 1955 .i have a lot of photo that he gave me . I also run a small group that do the 7th KOSB 1944 but have now talked them into moving on to 1950s so my wish is coming to portray a small part of the Korean war . as you all say it is the forgotten war and its no different over here my father is so angry that its took 50 years for the UK government to put up a memorial for all . any how i wont ramble on but if i can be of any help just ask . keep up the grate work that you are all doing ete : pete

My name is Mark Finster. I'm listed here as a vendor. I do WW2 reenacting, but am also a militaria collector. My tie to Korea is thru my mom's cousin. His name is Sgt. Charles Fiddler, Co. M, 8th Cav. Regt., 1st Cav Div. He went MIA at Unsan in Nov. 1951 and declared 'Died of Wounds while in captivity " Dec. 31, 1953. No remains have yet been recovered or returned. He was a gunner on an M-1919A4 crew. I've got quite a collection and I'm always willing to share info on the stuff in it.. If there's anything I can help with, Let me know. I plan to put an impression together based on my cousin. Fins.

I realize this is an old thread, but I figured I'd add on. I mainly portray the 81st Quartermaster Company (WWII Pacific). The last year or so I've also been doing Korean War Quartermaster when the opportunity arises...Actually, I've done early Korean War at a few WWII events (kind of guerrilla reenacting)...Great forum, I look forward to seeing you all at events.

Further resurecting this thread:
I reenact the Belgian and/or Luxembourgers that fought in Korea. Since I've always like the obscure, the Luxembourgers and the Korean War really went hand in hand for me. Anyway, despite appearances, I'm in the UK and looking for a Korean War group. I'm also thinking about putting a Dutch (Van Heutsz Regiment) impression together and 8th Hussars...

Hya chaps! I'm not new to re-enacting, but have been sitting on the sidelines of Korean War for some time and am now jumping in with both feet! My portrayal is King's Shropshire Light Infantry for this period, though for the latter part (post 1953) I do US 1st Cav.
On the Brit side of things I have some pretty heavy equipment including a forward recce Landrover MkII and a few large Brit tents, M20 A1/B1 etc. So far there are about four of us doing this period in our group here in England, but are always looking for gys over here that we can work with.

Well, I just found this site just the other day, and I posted up about my group, West Coast Raiders. Good site. USMC born and bred! Anyone interested in the Marines, just pm me!
West Coast Raiders are a group of USMC (many Marines in the group) that do WW2 Raider/ParaMarine/Amphib Bn, VN USMC Recon/FR, PRU/Phoenix, PF impressions and have just started getting into the Korean War USMC Recon Co. impression. We may be based out of Sacramento, CA but we have members in SoCal, WA, UT, AZ, all over the east coast (ecoastraiders.webs.com), UK, Czech and Philipenes, and Puerto Rico. Check us out at: wcoastraiders.webs.com You can target Korean, and stay with Korean if so desired. Looking for PRK, and CCF as well. Semper Fi, Gunnyred

My name is Doug Petty, retired from the navy in '90(e-7) spent most of my service atsea. got interested in the Korean era because of my dad. He was in the 187th rct and made two combat jumps and He never really talked about his time over there. Found letters from my mom talking about his time there and some of his patrols. Myself and my brother are interested in his uniform, what goes on and where. Also getting into collecting his type of uniform and where there are groups located.

Good Morning, All! I'm new to the list today and interested because I had several relatives who fought in the KW. I'm a former Navy officer and have previously reenacted VN and WW2. Wondering if there are any KW reenactors living in San Antonio, and who might be interested in working with the Army Medical Museum at Ft Sam Houston, either as Medical Corps (MASH-type?) docents or in some other living history capacity, say, every couple of months or more often/as need arises. The museum handles lots of tours, mostly families of combat medic/health science courses, so it's a busy place where a core group of reenactors could make a meaningful difference. Otherwise, I'm interested in any KW area tacticals, groups, etc. My humble thx for considering this post, All!

Hi all. Recently I have found this forum and hoped I would find something like this. The Korean War seems to remain as the Forgotten war. I hope this Forum gets resurrected, it would be a real shame to let it air down anymore. Im from Australia and I hope to build myself a Korean war RAR kit. And maybe, convince more people to get interested in this black spot of history. And to all who have left information from the start of this forum to now, Good on you!
