Okay I've got a question. Did the jump boots get superceded by the tall "Para" boots early or late in the war? Tony

Hmmm... Tony, I think the jump boots and "para" boots are the same thing.
If you're talking about the Army's "double buckle" boots vs. the "jump boots" (which I presume were modelled after the paratrooper boots) I don't know ...
My USMC buddy said they switched from boondockers and leggings to "combat boots" in late 1952, which would have only been 6-8 months or so before the cease fire.

The WW2 jump boots would have been out of service by then, and paratroopers were officially issued M-43 buckle boots. The Russet combat boots were not widespread, but were available in the PX. Other than that they were still more of a testing thing.
The Marines had a whole nother system of boots, first they had the WW2 Boondocker, then they went to a full size boot that has "speedlace" hooks above the ankle.
