view from the MacDonalds across the street Main entrance hall AN LVT-1. I'll bet it has an amazing story behind it, but the plaque was in Chinese. This claims to be a U-2 Spyplane shot down in 1967. The rest of the info was in Chinese. A US drop tank. I love this because of the "no touching/no smoking" sign. Colors of the US 31st Infantry Regiment. I think I have some more pics that I haven't scanned. THey had a pretty big Korean War section, including a walk through replica of part of the "Underground Great wall".

The U-2 was probably Taiwanese, as they operated them over China for a couple decades and lost 7 of them in the process.

Huh, I was not aware of that. I didn't realize we'd ever hooked anyone up with U-2's.

Damn-I didn't know we lost our colours over there too! I figured we had lost them in th PI in 42' I guess it was lost when the 31st was point for 7th ID

I'm reading "East of Chosin" right now, which is specifically about the 31st Infantry's fight on the eastern side of the Chosin Resevoir. I'll see if it mentions losing the colors.
