The Mosin Nagant is always a good stand-by and completely acurate for DPRK troops. Maybe you've got deep pockets and can afford a semi-auto DP-28???
Soft caps are hard to find, but I think you can modify a Nationalist Chinese cap without lots of headaches. The Soviet M-35 (with collar) tunic should do (worn tucked inside the trousers), although I've seen a couple different styles...and I love the baggy trousers, but don't know where you'd find a pair: maybe wear 2 sizes larger, and cinch up/alter the waist? I see high-top sneakers on ebay occasionally. Throw in a blanket roll and your IJA canteen/breadbag and you're ready to go.
I think if we want to continue this particular discussion, we probably should do it in the North korean section of the forum.

If I understood "pledge march" correctly, what are you collecting money for?

Hello Everybody, Thanks for the question Sergeant. I will be collecting pledges for the endowment of the Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado. The committee I am involved in, mostly Vietnam Infantrymen veterans, built this fine plaza. We now have to raise a sizeable endowment for its perpetual care by the city of Fort Collins, CO. They already do a great job. I am the engineer in the bunch. I am bumping up the schedule to next winter to note the end of hostilities 60 years ago. This will be a very interesting adventure for a good cause. Any advice or constructive criticism or good jokes highly appreciated. Thank You! Seth Knight Bu2

Hello pop401k, Sergeant. I don't have the admin structure yet, but the committe I am a member of takes donations for our Veterans Plaza we have built. WWW.Veteransplazanoco.com. You can also nominate yourself or a fellow veteran to be added to our scrolling wall. For free. I've started winter training with a twenty pound pack and carrying my Lee Enfield. I believe I have a loaner Garand for the pledge march next year though. Now I will start recruiting platoon members and looking for uniforms. Have a great day fellow Veterans, Thanks for your interest pop401k. BU2 OIF '09

Hello Everyone, My name is Todd McCabe, and I'm looking to create a 1st Cavalry Division 1950 impression. At the moment, I have a 5/7 CAV 1970 impression, and I'm looking at doing a Korean Conflict kit for the same unit. I plan on getting an M1 Garand, and making it an M1C to use as a "sniper" impression. I am not near a unit hear in Alaska, so this is mostly for personal collection and airsoft - which I play in my historical impressions. Other than that, I leave for Army BCT in July, so I probably won't finish my kit until after my training is over - and I can't keep personal firearms, or knives larger than a pocket knife, in the barracks, so I'm a bit limited on what I can do, but I look foward to the challenge of recreating the forgotten war.

Hi all,
New to site. Looking around since I do some Korean War programs more for history time line. I'm with a group sort of starting out representing the 8th RCT. Our group was asked to be the official representatives of this unit by several of the veterans we meant at Carlisle Army Heritage Center during the Armed Forces Weekend a couple years ago. Looking for any information on a SCR300 radio since that is what the radioman carried when I talked to him last month. We are open to ideas and what is going on in regards to the Lost War and remembering and honoring these veterans. Note: Have an uncle who served during this time.

Hello from Montana have always been interested in the Korean War, including how it has been so ignored Two uncles [infantry & tanks], my dad [USAF FAC], & good friend [USMC infantry] were there One uncle in the 2nd ID, first unit in country I am doing displays at regional car, gun, & living history shows, rodeo & Memorial Day parades - almost always the Korean War, just one WW2 - paid to do it, the 163rd Infantry Regt MTANG The rest of the time I present the 187th Abn Inf Regt RCT... as I was airborne infantry for 27x years eh The rest of my military vehicle club does WW2 or Cold War vehicles I can tell you, Korean War vets are quite moved to see someone mentioning their war! One guy I met at a car show did both jumps "mass tacs" with the 187th - we talked for three hours I have a 1945 GPW & 1950 M38, both set up as 187th vehicles, & a 1950 M100 trailer All these shows are done in the summer, so HBT but I do show the winter gear have to figure how to post a few photos AND is there any Korean War reenactors or vehicle types around MT? or in ND SD ID WY or Alberta? thanks
