Recently I ordered a set of P44 Utilities from WWII Impressions. I received them and am very impressed with the quality of the construction of these garments!
The only thing that I noticed that is amiss is the repro jacket closes with 5 buttons, whereas my originals (and all the information I can find on the coat) close with 6 buttons.
Does anyone out there know if they made a 5-button P44 utility coat? It doesn't really show when the coat is tucked into the trousers, but I am still curious for the sake of knowing more.

I used to have something that had the actual pattern drawings in it, but I can't remember what...

I think Grunt Gear has those drawings, if I am remembering what ncgrunt told me right.

Yes, Grunt Gear has a drawing for the P44 utilities for a size 36 top from the USMC depot records. It shows it with six buttons.

Juan at WWII Impressions informed me that it was an error in production. It should have 6 buttons.

Sean, Did Juan indicate that he is going to correct future production?

Yes, he will correct future production but all the ones in the existing batch have 5 buttons.

Could they not just add the extra button to the existing stocks, or did the get the spacing's wrong aswell? I was about to order a set, but I think I'll hang on until issue is sorted. How does the sizing run btw. I know WW2 Imp. stuff can often run small?

The button spacing is set for 5 and not 6. So, adding a button at the bottom won't make much difference - nobody would see the bottom button anyway. As for sizing, I am a size 42L and I ordered a 44. The shoulders are a good size but it is large in the body, but I expect this was how originals were to compensate for inflatable bladders in the pockets (as they were designed for). The trousers are sized right, or at least mine fit like I think they should.
