I'm working on getting my cold weather gear together. Did Marines use only left over WWII shoepacs or were they issued mickey mouse boots the ones without the air nipple?

Yes mate, they used both, initially Shoepacs and then 'Mickey Mouse' boots, though I can't remember off the top of my head what the date on introduction was, I think it was the winter of 1951/52. I'm sure I have the date it in a book somewhere.
