Hi guys, it's been about 2 years since I last visited this forum, but I thought I would drop by and post something you might find interesting. A couple years ago, I purchased a veteran-acquired dog fur cap. I took some high resolution photographs and uploaded to our server. There has been some debate, however, as to whether or not this is actually North Korean made or Chinese made. The cap contains no writing nor any distinguishable markings. I asked the veteran, but he could not remember where he picked up the item (sometime during the winter of 1951-52). From my personal research the best I can assume is it's of Chinese origin. Here is the link: www.easy39th.com/chinese_cap/I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

If I were to speculate...
It looks japanese. They used an extra piece (we see it across the top) to go under the chin. Never have seen any on Chinese caps. Also the "brow" fur is a lot smaller than Chinese. Therefore, I'd say if it definitely isn't Japanese then it's probably Korean patterned after IJA, since Korea was a colony of japan for about 40-50 years.
