Trident Military

So after my slight disappointment with the padded jacket and winter hat I received from Front of Russia, I decided to order a padded jacket and winter hat from Trident Military. I placed my order Thursday night, I had my stuff in hand Monday afternoon.
So good, fast shipping.

The padded jacket from Trident is Repro. It s slightly greener than the one from FOS. The cut is much better, it is shorter in the body and sleeves have a little more room. The buttons are plain flat Russian metal buttons, so no need to change them.
Other than the greenish color, this is pretty close to the Chinese model. I give it an 8 out of 10.

The winter hat has the khaki twill top and brown "fur" but it seems slightly undersized as well but not as bad as the FOS hat. The top is also slightly rounded and not too square
I give it an 9 out of 10.

The only reason why I went ahead and ordered this stuff from Trident is that I had a buyer for my FOS stuff. If I could do it again, I would have gone to Trident to begin with. His prices are higher than FOS, but when you factor in shipping cost and the high fees you have to pay to Western Union, you end up paying about the same. Plus it would be much easier to return something to Trident here in the USA than to FOS in the Ukraine.

I'm actually having a bit of an issue with Trident myself right now. Everything I hear about them is good, so mabey I'm like the one freak occurance. I placed an online order for the ushanka, I think it was over the weekend of the 2-3rd, but it may have been the weekend before that. Anyway, I called Monday to see if my order had been shipped. The guy looked for a few minutes, then said he would get back to me. Tuesday I still hadn't heard, so I called and got no answer, then I shot them an e-mail. Yesterday I talked to the same guy, he still couldn't find the order, but said he was pretty sure it had shipped and would e-mail me to say what day it had gone out. A few hours later I called and left a message saying "If it hasn't shipped I want to cancel it". I'll probably call back when I go to lunch today. I mean if they never got the order they should at least be able to tell me that.

Unless it gets here today I won't have it for the weekend.

Just got an E-mail a few minutes ago... The order never shipped because they normally don't keep my size in stock. They were waiting on it to be sent from Russia. Looks like I'll have cold ears all weekend.

Why don't you check with some of the Russian reenactors (if you know any) and borrow something to put on your head. If all else fails, use a towel... like a hood. It's too damn cold to be without something!!
