I have a very strong bias for scholarly books. I prefer being able to trace every tiny detail back to an official history, document, or interrogation report. Although it is usually considered non-fiction, "Enter the Dragon" is basically written as a novel. The main characters are mostly Chinese, with a few North Koreans and Americans thrown in for good measure. Through their eyes we see the intervention and subsequent battles from various levels, from Ping Dehuai and his aide down to a Chinese platoon leader and his men. It bothers me that the author has obviously fleshed out a lot of detail on his own, but the result is pretty good. There is enough background info to explain things to those who may not be fully familiar with the war, and the first person parts are entertaining. I'd recomend this one to anyone interested in the war, honestly, just to get a glimpse of the other side.

Yea, I finished this book in like two days, and it's like 300 pages. I think that pretty much sums it up.

I didn't know Bruce Lee fought in Korea??? That's so kool! No wonder they kicked our ass those first few months, with a guy like him in charge!
I couldn't resist either. ;O)
