I have an EE8 just like that, with the canvas case. I also have the earlier style, with the leather case. Both are complete, but the leather case needs to have the handset cords reattached to the receiver. Simple thing to do, I just haven't done it. I also have a signal flag set like the one in the picture.
I picked up the switchboard from a good friend. He says every station works except for station 7. I plan on fixing it, but I have 11 working stations. I haven't tested it yet, but I plan on doing so once I reconnect the handset on my other phone.
I'll post some pictures this week.

Hey guys, Labor Day Weekend was the Altamont, NY Capital District Scottish Games, and my first opportunity to display the Korean War impression I've been trying to put together. I also had a binder detailing 1/BW's participation in the war, the VC citation for Pte William Speakman, and photos of 1st Commonwealth Div soldiers. Great reaction from the public who stopped by. Alright, enough talking. Here are the photos. The full timeline, ranging from the 1700s to 2003. Korea, 1952 It's not a lot, but a start!

The impression is off to a great start by the looks of it! For Commonwealth Division, I've always been partial to Princess Pats.

Here is the US Marine Corps Living History Unit doing Chosin (It actually snowed at this and it was March, damn weird assed Military Through the ages weather) The Last picture I actually have on the Mantle over the fire place in my home...call me sentimental but I love my boys. (Note the use of MUD...reall honest to God Mud...I know its rare to see reenactors getting their shit dirty...but damn doesnt it make the impression!)

All great looking photos, it would be great if we put together the Korean War event currently being mulled over at the WWII forums!
Tom, the Princess Pats were definitely in the thick of it, and a company of the regiment was called up as reinforcements during the 2nd Battle of the Hook (18/19 Nov '52)...The Watch was very appreciative of the assistance.

Sean, I took a second look at that timeline picture, and I have to say, that is QUITE impressive. Even a modern Jock in desert camo in there. Super cool. I'd love to do a picture like that of the American soldier.
I seem to recall a story about how a Scottish soldier was playing the pipes atop a Warrior IFV when they advanced into Basra in 2003. Scotland the brave indeed!

I guess I'd be doing Chinese... by myself, probably. I can put up a good fight, but it might not make for much of a tactical...

Bren, I'm willing to do Chinese if it means making a battle happen. Especially if its later in the war and we can live in a trench all day.

What if we just have a "training weekend"? I know there's a big draw in poppin' caps, but I think it'd be neat to do that. The only other option is to have the requirements for Chinese really low and allow everyone who wanted to use their WWII Soviet stuff...

Yea, I would say to make the Chinese requirements real low, but John and I did VC at the last Louisa event and I was very un-impressed with the VC. I think the big problem is that a US Korean war training event would, to most people, just be a farby WW2 training event.

So lets do it right. I love training events.

Perhaps, instead of just a "training event", it could also be a conference of sorts. Get together, discuss ideas, start working on scenarios/regs/"sales pitches" to get people to show up, that sort of thing. I've been reading about the Chinese Communists all morning, always having "policy meetings" and getting together to discuss the direction things are going. Surely reenactors are smarter than communists!
I think getting Chinese will be the big issue, it seems like lots of folks have a Yank or Brit kit collecting dust somewhere. A Summer impression would be cheap, a winter one would cost a little more. After seeing the VC I don't really like the idea of bringing anything you can find of communist origin. I personally would like to see people who are interested in doing it right instead of just busting caps, but GI's will want Human wave attacks and stuff.
In the words of an anonymous Marine "Exactly how many Hordes are in a Chinese platoon?"

Tom, thanks for the compliments on the timeline. I'll pass them along...it was my first event of that type, and was a lot of fun. The public also got a lot out of it.
I'm of the opinion that the most important thing is to do it right, regardless of where KW reenacting goes. Even if our first tactical events are only roughly 10-15 guys per "side," that would even emphasize small unit tactics more than what you normally see at most events. I think that once word spread, that you could get more support for both sides among those interested in doing it right in other time periods, and perhaps expansion may be possible from there?
But it's late and I just got home from another event, so this could just be crazy talk. ;-) Cheers!

I'm no expert, but it looks pretty good! May I suggest a wool shirt for under the HBT and over the sweater. ...and if you feel like it (not required), a white name tape over your right pocket. Looking very good!!!

I definitely second the wool shirt. Upgrade the helmet eventually to a U.S. made M1. Possibly get "double buckle" combat boots as an option to the jump boots. On the whole, a GREAT start!
